Answer

A dream home I would like to have is a bungalow that my family stayed in when I went on vacation in Mazandaran. It was half way up a mountain on the coast, overseeing the picturesque scenery of the beach and blue sea. There was a little yard in front of the house, where I could sit and have a cup of tea while enjoying the fresh air and amazing view. Inside the house, I could still see the greenery outside because of the big French windows in the living room. The walls were dotted here and there with artistic pictures, and the wooden furniture added yet more liveliness to the cozy rooms. In the morning, when I opened the window, sea breeze came pouring in, and I could hear birds chirping in the woods. I want to live in it after I graduate from school. It would be great if I could work from home there so that I could make the most of place. I want to live in this house because it was so beautiful and comfortable. The designer of this bungalow made the best use of architecture, nature and human emotions to create this wonderful work of art.

Do most Iranian people live in an apartment or house?

Answer

I think most people live in apartments. In cities, there are a lot of apartment buildings, and almost all urban citizens live in these buildings. Though a lot of people in the rural areas live in houses, I think the number of people living in apartments is still bigger.

Do young people in your country like to live with their parents or by themselves?

Answer

I think most young people prefer living by themselves, so that they can enjoy more freedom and avoid family problems caused by generation gap and different lifestyles. But when they get married, they may live with parents so their children can be taken care of when they are busy.

Do Iranian people like to rent a place to live?

Answer

The fact is that the majority of the population in the urban areas live in rented places, because they can't afford to buy their own. I can't say they like it, but they have to. I do know there are people renting an apartment even though they can afford to buy one, because they prefer moving around.

Would you live in a foreign country in the future?

Answer

Yes. Maybe just for a couple of years. Living in a foreign country is a great way to pick up a language, learn about another culture, and meet different people. But as I was born and raised in Iran, I'm more used to the lifestyle here. So I will come back after I experienced the life in another country.

How is modern home design (both inside & outside appearance) in your country different to that of the past?

Answer

I have to say there are many changes happened these years in terms of home design. In the past, homes were usually in lower buildings without elevators. Now most people live in tall apartment buildings. The interior design of houses in the past were very simple, but the houses now are decorated more beautifully with pictures, green plants and other things.

In your country, what type of home do most people live in?

Answer

Most people live in apartments. We have a very large population in Iran, so we build tall apartment buildings to provide room for more homes. Most people live in these apartments with their families. Unlike a lot of the developed countries where many people live in houses and have their own gardens, we share the public facilities in the buildings with our neighbours.
